The elk are starting to move again after the grizzly action on opening weekend.

Hopefully I can get on them here before I head to Germany in October.

Here he is, my 2024 Velvet Muley! I spotted this g

Here he is, my 2024 Velvet Muley! I spotted this guy in the morning when a little spike pushed him out of his bed.
Based on his direction I was almost positive I knew exactly where he was headed to bed. With the wrong wind direction I had to sit tight and wait. About an hour passed and the wind shifted allowing me to sneak in and sure enough he was exactly where I thought.

Super pumped for this guy, plenty of mass and the velvet was super clean.

Just wait till you see where he ended up, 32 degrees is no joke and it was a dash to get him out and the velvet in the freezer.

Now back to the elk spot ( with hopefully less bears)

Another year and another heavy pack.

Yes that’s a whole mule deer in one load. I made a second trip for the head/cape and all my gear.

I bought this @stoneglacier Sky 5900 7 years ago and it’s still kicking. A quick wash and it’s ready to roll again.

It’s crazy to look back at the receipt of what I paid 7 years ago compared to buying one now. So thankful I bit the bullet 7 years ago.
